A Walk and Talk event to connect members of the military community across the country has been organised to coincide with the day Westminster will debate the recent Northern Ireland Veterans Petition. The Walk and Talk will take place on Monday 14 July, meeting at 14:00 hrs at Potters Field Park and walking to Parliament Square. The debate will start from 16:30 hrs and is expected to be well attended beforehand by members of the military community gathering in Parliament Square from 15:30 hrs. The Rolling Thunder Motorcycle veterans’ group will also be in attendance.
This is an event open to all military veterans and has been organised by the Parachute Regimental Association, but is not an official RHQ or politically motivated one. There is an expectation that all attending behave in an appropriate manner. The Walk is open to any serving, veteran or military family member. The walk will commence at Potters Field Park (Bridge Theatre/former City Hall) and go to Parliament Square via, London Bridge, the South Bank and then across Westminster Bridge. This is approximately 3 miles. For those who do not wish to walk 3 miles then they can join at Parliament Square. There is an expectation that all attending behave in an appropriate manner, and are encouraged to wear smart dress with berets and medals.
