Eastbourne Branch Remembers Burma

by | Nov 13, 2021 | News

A Service of Remembrance was held on a very blustery 12th November 2021 at the PINWE Memorial in Pavilion Gardens, Eastbourne. It was so nice to see so many turn out to remember the fallen. Eastbourne Branch Chairman, Phil Turner, read an account of the battle and a wreath was laid for all the men who died in the Burma campaign during World War 2.

The assembly then moved across to the VC plaque to CSM Nelson Carter of the 12th Battalion, who died valiantly rescuing seven wounded soldiers at the Battle of Boar’s Head on 30th June 1916, where a Poppy Cross was laid.

We will Remember Them.
