In Memory of Raymond Weston

by | Aug 19, 2021 | News

Ray joined the Royal Sussex Regiment and saw service in Germany, where the image of him was taken in June 1953 at Wyvern Barracks, Luneburg.

After military service Ray worked for Hampshire County Council in the highways department until retirement, after which he spent most of his time growing and showing Fuchsia’s and propagating new species for commercial production.

Ray’s marriage to Pam was his second and lasted almost 40 years before Pam’s death due to a stroke. In marrying Pam Ray took on her five children, and their family grew to include both grandchildren and great grandchildren, the latest being born just two days before Ray died.

Ray’s family know virtually nothing of his time with the regiment and would dearly love to have more information about his service career. If there are any Association members, or ex-Royal Sussex veterans who remember Ray please get in touch with us using the website contact email address and we will pass your details on.
