Friends of the Queen’s / PWRR Museum, Dover

by | Jun 13, 2022 | News

The staff of the museum held an open night for the Friend’s of the Museum and other invited guests from 1600hrs onwards on Tuesday 14 December 2021. It gave a chance for the guests to look around the displays and artefacts in a quieter environment out of hours. The visit was rounded off with a reception upstairs. The museum is excellent and well worth a visit if you are in the Dover area and covers all the Forbearer Regiments through the amalgamation into The Queen’s Regiment and onto Iraq and Afghanistan with the PWRR. The section on WW1 is especially thorough with lots of artefacts and wonderfully created full size replicas of trench section, which give a vivid insight into the reality of life in the trenches. The guests were excellently hosted and escorted by the Chairman of the Friends, The PWRR Regional Officer and the Assistant Curator, thank you all.
