On Monday 27 June Chichester Branch members were invited to attend the regiments old home, Roussillon Barracks, to witness a presentation to those cadets who formed the marching contingent on St. George’s Day. Members of the Chichester Detachment, Sussex Army Cadet Force were first entertained with a short presentation by Association Chairman Barry Lane on the exploits of the Lowther’s Lambs Battalions in the Great War, supported by a static display of relevant items from the Museum collection. Afterwards the Mayor of Chichester, Cllr Julian Joy, presented lapel badges that were especially made to commemorate the one hundredth anniversary of the Regiment’s St. George’s Day service in Chichester Cathedral. A sumptuous buffet was generously provided by the Detachment commander S/Sgt. Mark Hickman that rounded off the evening. A big thanks go to the cadets from all at Chichester Branch.
