On a gloriously sunny summers day, members and guests of The Royal Sussex Regimental Association met on the 7th September 2021 at Goodwood Racecourse for the annual running of ‘The Royal Sussex Stakes’ race. Thirty members and guests enjoying a wonderful lunch, and a magnificent view from a box overlooking the finishing line. First past the post was 5 year old Themaxwecan, owned by Douglas Livingston, trained by Mark Johnston and ridden by Oisin Murphy. The Association’s President, Douglas McCully is seen here with his wife presenting the owner of ‘Themaxwecan’, with the trophy for the winner of the best dressed horse.
