Great News for Dennis Lilley !

by | Jul 27, 2021 | News

Last week we informed you all of the plight of an ex-Royal Sussex man called Dennis Lilley, who had been parted from his wife of 72 years by social services.

I have just received a call from his son-in-law Vic and am delighted to inform you that after the pressure we have applied, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council have reversed their decision and Dennis will now be joining Gladys in her care home.

Vic asked me to thank all members of the Association as well as our comrades in PWRRA and QRA for all the letters that were sent to their local MP on Dennis’s behalf.

This is what we are all about – supporting our veterans, and it just shows what can be achieved when the whole Regimental Family pulls together with unity of purpose in getting the public sector to apply what they signed up for in the military covenant and not just virtue signal!
