Holocaust Memorial Day

The Standards of Hastings, Eastbourne, Mid Sussex, Arundel, and Chichester supported the Holocaust Memorial Day Service at the White Rock Theatre in Hastings on Saturday 28th January 2023, along with the national flags of the wartime allies carried by the Hastings and St Leonard’s Veterans Association. The service was to remember and honour the victims of genocide and to recognise the resilience of the human spirit, which was organised by Bader College from Herstmonceux Castle and involved not only students from their Chamber Choir, but the St Richard’s choir and dance group. The theatre was packed and keynote speeches were given by Sally Ann Hart MP and the Leader of Hastings Council. The service ended with the lowering of the flags and standards which was followed by a two minute silence in honour of not only the six million Jews who perished during the holocaust, but to all victims of genocide worldwide.
