Meeting the Veterans

In September of last year a ‘Meet the Veterans’ evening was arranged collectively with the RSX Museum Collection Team, who visited the Littlehampton Detachment of the Sussex Army Cadet Force  to deliver a presentation on Lowther’s Lambs as well as a display of relevant WW1 artefacts from the Regimental Collection. They were joined by four members of the Chichester Branch with Roger Lintott bringing along his kitbag containing his old battledress uniform and accoutrements from his service with the regiment. The Chairman, Barry Lane, gave an informative presentation on the Southdown Battalions in the Great War, which was followed by Alan Bernhem-Parter taking the cadets through the display of artefacts from the Regimental Collection; Roger closed with a hands-on demonstration on what a National Serviceman wore during the 1950’s. This was the fourth presentation in 2023 with more displays booked for 2024.
