Not Forgotten at The Palace

by | Jun 2, 2023 | News

A Buckingham Palace Garden Party arranged by the Not Forgotten Society took place on Tuesday 16 May 2023. Attended by Chichester Branch member Brian Morley and his wife Heather, Brian was representative of the British Korean Veterans Association. Mid Sussex Branch members Celia Baker, Branch Secretary and Denise Carr, Association Welfare Director had the honour of also being invited to attend. Celia went on to comment, “To say the day was one of our greatest memories would be an understatement. The Palace was amazing, the food, especially the cakes, were the best we’ve tasted. The celebrities were beyond friendly and mingling with our forces made us feel so proud”. Also in attendance was one of the Association’s remaining World War II veterans, Robert Piper. “The icing on the cake was seeing HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh, particularly as our Bob Piper was the first in line to be presented to her. They seem to chat forever and Bob was in such demand, and he was interviewed by so many people, one of which was later on the radio”.
