With grateful thanks to both Sussex County Cricket Club and the Associations Vice Chairman, Nigel Russell, a visit was organised for Association member Bill Dixon of Chichester Branch to visit the home of Sussex County Cricket, (all Covid Regulations compliant). Bill is an avid cricket fan and is an ex-army umpire, for whom, sadly, the sands of time are running out. So, Nigel organised a talk and visit to the Sussex County Cricket Museum along with Bill’s great friend Dave Tilley. The visit was rounded off by watching some cricket with Bill thoroughly enjoyed his day. Dave asked Bill why he loves cricket, and the reply was ‘It’s good to play sports in the army, and being an umpire you only have to lift a finger’.
