The Royal Sussex Stakes at Goodwood

by | Oct 9, 2024 | News

Unlike in 2023 the weather this year at Goodwood was blustery and overcast. However, that did not dissuade 150 Royal Sussex members and their families descending on the course and enjoying The Royal Sussex Stakes. Sadly, due to diminished numbers, we were unable to take advantage of the Association Box this year, hut a hardy group assembled at a local hostelry close to the course for pre-race lunch. The ladies selected the best dressed horse prior to the race, which this year was won by ‘East India Dock’. The president and his wife presented the trophy to the winning owner at the end of the race. It is hoped that most came away with a profit!
