Honouring Sir William

Thanksgiving service for Sir William Goring Bt. On the 1st of January 2024, the Association lost one of its most stalwart supporters when Sir William passed away peacefully at home. A long serving Trustee of the Association and also co-editor with Guy Scoular of the Roussillon Gazette for many years, there were very few people within the Association who didn’t know Sir William. The service of Celebration and Thanksgiving for his long and fruitful life took place on Thursday 1st February 2024 at St. Mary Magdalene & St Denys Church in Midhurst, his home for many years. The packed congregation included many officers and members of the Association, and had six Branch Standards on parade to say goodbye to an old and valued friend. Our thoughts are with Stephanie and the family, may he rest in peace.
